Our Precision Base Preparation Process

Irrigation & Site Prep
First we run your irrigation and mark any sprinklers that need to be capped or moved, and cut the pipes that will run under the pavers so there are no problems later. Your system was set up to water a yard without pavers, so heads often need to be relocated to keep the grass watered. Then we cut out all the sod where the pavers will sit and lay weed barrier so grass can’t grow up through the joints.

Compacted Base & Grading
Next we bring in concrete fines, finely crushed concrete, as the base and compact it firmly with a special compacting machine. Once compacted, the fines add roughly three inches of grade, which we keep in mind when matching the pavers to another surface. We slope the base slightly away from the house so water never runs back toward it and there’s no pooling.

Pavers, Sand & Sealing
We set the pavers into a pattern that’s pleasing to the eye, then brush sand over the top to close any visible gaps and help prevent weeds from growing through. Finally we create a concrete border around the pavers so there’s no movement or separation over time, and we offer a sealing service to protect your investment so the pavers hold their color and brilliance longer.
